Playbook: Fill an NDA or SOW from Your Template

Project template walkthrough

This page walks through the built-in Document Analysis & Contract Review project template (document-analysis) — choose it under New Project. File names and values are an illustrative example; AMBA does not give legal advice and never drafts legal terms for you.

Domain: Legal & administration
Target Roles: Office manager, legal counsel, account manager, founder
Deliverable: reports/<Template>_<Counterparty>.docx: a filled copy of your template, with no blank left

1. What AMBA Does — and What It Never Does

AMBA fills the fields of your contract template — party names, addresses, registration numbers, dates, amounts, durations — from the facts you give it. It never rewrites, adds or deletes clauses, and it never invents a value: anything it cannot find in your message or in Sources becomes a question to you.

AMBA writes the filled fields into a copy in reports/; your template in Sources is never changed. You review the copy against your template in Word, and every write can be undone from the file's history in AMBA.

2. Walkthrough

Step 1: Add the files to Sources

  • Mutual_NDA_Template.docx — your NDA, SOW or service-contract template with blanks such as [Company Name], [Date], [●], highlighted fields or Word content controls.
  • The facts: a term sheet, a quote, a purchase order, a company profile or an email export.

Step 2: Ask

markdown
Fill sources/uploads/Mutual_NDA_Template.docx for our NDA with Beta Trading JSC,
using the details in sources/uploads/Beta_Company_Profile.pdf. Effective date: today.

Step 3: What AMBA does

  1. Inspects the template and lists every field to fill.
  2. Sources each value from your message or a file in Sources.
  3. Asks you for every value it cannot source — for example the governing law or the confidentiality period — and waits for your answers.
  4. Fills the copy in reports/ field by field, removing the yellow field highlighting from the filled text.
  5. Checks the result: a contract that still contains a blank ([Company Name], [Fill in …], [Date], [●], a content control showing its placeholder) is refused and fixed before the run completes.

Step 4: Read the summary

The answer ends with a table of what was filled:

Fields you chose to leave open are listed separately.

3. Review the Filled Copy in Word

  1. Open the filled file (click it in the deliverables list, then open it in Word).
  2. Go to Review → Compare → Compare Documents: choose your template as the original and the filled copy as the revised document. Word marks every filled field; no other text, numbering or formatting was touched.
  3. Change a value directly in the copy, or ask AMBA in chat to correct it. To start over, restore an earlier version from the file's File history in AMBA.

Your company Word template

For new documents (not contract fills), set Company Word template in the project settings (General tab): new Word files then use its styles, lists, page setup and headers/footers.
